Children
Children are a cherished part of the Good Hope family. We strive to serve them and let them serve others through a number of programs.
Sunday School
Sunday School provides instruction in the Christian faith from caring and involved teachers. Children are taught God’s story of redemption from Genesis through Revelation. An age appropriate curriculum stories, songs, games, and worksheets help children better grasp Christ’s love. Join us Sunday at 9:15 am.
Nursery Ministry
Nursery Ministry provides safe, secure, and loving childcare during Sunday School and worship. During Sunday school, infants are cared for while toddlers and preschoolers receive an age-appropriate Bible lesson. During morning worship, child care for infants through three years old is provided.
Our nursery is a cooperative effort which operates under the guidelines of a session-approved policy. The nursery is overseen by a nursery coordinator who recruits volunteers to serve in teams.
Children’s Church
The goal of Children’s Church is to help them worship and to prepare them for partcipation in worship.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is a highlight of our summer children’s ministry. Concerted effort is made to reach the children of our community. A wide spectrum of members are involved in helping with VBS.
VBS is a high energy week with puppets, crafts, games, snacks, songs, and more. The good news of the Gospel is weaved into the stories presented each day. VBS is traditionally held mornings during the second week of July.
Christmas Children’s Play
The Children’s Christmas Play is a highlight of the winter season. The children put on an original production. The play is traditionally performed the 2nd Sunday evening in December. Many opportunities exists for church members to support the children through making costumes, building sets, erecting the stage, and assisting with sound and lighting. Practices are held during a portion of Sunday school beginning in October. Parents are asked to help their children learn their lines and the songs. Remember, there are no small parts, only small actors! The play is followed by a celebratory time of refreshments and fellowship.
