FellowshipFellowship is an important aspect of our church life. Below is a list of fellowship opportunities within our congregation.
Growth Groups
Growth Groups are small group meetings that occur in homes. The size and settings of these groups enhance friendships and foster a depth of care for each other. The Biblical text of the previous week’s sermon is used as the text for the study. The format of the study gives opportunity to study the text in more depth and yields life applications. While these groups engage in a serious study of the Scriptures, laughter and joy abounds.
Family and Friends
Luncheons serve as an excellent way to build relationships among us. Luncheons are held each month after Sunday morning worship. A main course and beverages are provided. Members are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share. These luncheons provide an excellent foray into the Good Hope community.
Summer Picnics
The goal of summer picnics is similar that of family and friends luncheons. The difference is that summer picnics are held in the late afternoon and, weather permitting, outdoors. Everyone are asked bring lawn chairs or blanket in addition to a side dish or dessert. Everyone are also encouraged to bring an outdoor game to share.
Christmas Party
Held the first weekend in December, everyone is invited to an open house traditionally held at the home of Mac and Bobbi MacDonald, one of our church families. Many beautifully decorated Christmas trees adorn the interior of the home. This setting provides a festive atmosphere for this gathering as well as traditional carol singing. Everyone is asked to bring an appetizer to share.
